Dashboard gauge charts are awesome to track your performance and business goals, but your business is always changing. With dynamic gauge charts, you’re no longer tied to static goals or performance levels. Build your gauge chart using report metrics and field values that respond dynamically to your business. For example, a gauge chart can show how a subsidiary’s sales are doing relative to your overall business.

How: Start by enabling dynamic gauge charts. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Reports and Dashboards, and then select Reports and Dashboards Settings. Select Enable Dashboard Dynamic Gauge Charts (Lightning Experience only), and save your changes. Next, make sure that your source report is set up for the data that you want to chart. Now, pop over to the dashboard builder for your new or existing dashboard and add the gauge chart component
.
In Standard mode, you can create a gauge chart with fixed values as you usually do. In Dynamic mode, you have dynamic control over the chart measure, indicated by the pointer, and the chart target, or maximum value in the chart.
For successful dynamic gauge charts, keep these points in mind:
- Your source reports must be set up with the groupings, metrics, and filters that you want to reflect in the gauge charts.
- The target segment values for a dynamic gauge chart are always percentages. (For standard gauge charts, the segment ranges are fixed numeric values.)
